Kantiang Bay
Kantiang Bay lies towards the southern tip of Ko Lanta and provides the last little hub of shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes before entering the more sparsely populated, deep south of the island. There are just three beaches further south before you are in the protected National Marine Park.
As you enter the bay, you are greeted by a kilometer of white sand beach and crystal clear waters, set against a backdrop of tropical rainforest reaching up into the hillside. With just a handful of resorts that range from simple family-run bungalows to the five-star luxury of the Pimalai Resort, you can live the castaway island dream in whatever manner you choose.
Ko Lanta is an island district in Krabi Province on Thailand’s Andaman coast. It’s known for its coral-fringed beaches, mangroves, limestone outcrops, and rainforests. Mu Ko Lanta National Park spans several islands, including the southern end of the largest island Ko Lanta Yai, home to semi-nomadic sea people known as the Chao Leh. The park contains the Khao Mai Kaew cave network and Khlong Chak Waterfall.
Once a backpacker's haven, Koh Lanta Yai nowadays sports several exclusive resorts. Friendly locals and its unspoiled nature are still the main attractions.
