— What You Can Expect —

Located in Penang Island, George Town is a World Heritage Site rich in its own culture, architecture, and mixture of different heritage from Chinese, Malay, Indian, and European.

  • Khoo Kongsi

Leong San Tong Khoo Kongsi, or Khoo Kongsi for short, is one of the most prominent Chinese clan associations in Malaysia. It's known around the globe for its extensive ancestry, which can be traced back to 650 years ago, as well as for its close knit and fortified collection of buildings and a magnificent clan house.

  • Yap Kongsi and Ciji Temple

The Yap Temple, officially known as Choo Chay Keong Temple, is a clan temple of the adjacent Yap Kongsi. The temple is situated at the corner of Armenian and Cannon Street, at the center of the George Town UNESCO World Heritage site.

  • Hock Teik Cheng Sin Temple

The Hock Teik Cheng Sin Temple, also known as Poh Hock Seah, is a clan temple for the Hokkien people who can trace their origin to Southern Fujian Province in China. Although registered on the 11th of October 1892, the Hock Teik Cheng Sin was founded back in 1844 by Kean Teik Tong Hokkien association. It is one of the first Hokkien institutions set up before the large influx of newcomers (collective called the Sinkheh) to Penang.

  • Cheah Kongsi

Founded in the year 1810, Cheah Kongsi is one of the oldest Hokkien clan associations in George Town. It took 15 years for the ancestral building to be completed. The magnificent temple, featuring Straits and post-independence architecture, is built on a 1,500 square metre ground obtained in 1828. Accessible through an archway from Lebuh Armenian and a new main entrance from Lebuh Pantai, it offers a captivating experience. The temple's main prayer hall houses three altars on the upper floor - Tua Pek Kong, Tai Sai Yeah (left), Hock Haw Kong (right), and Beng Him Kong tablets (center).

  • Pinang Peranakan Mansion

The Babas and Nyonyas, known collectively as Peranakans, were a prominent community of assimilated Chinese in the Straits Settlements (Penang, Melaka, and Singapore), earning them the name Straits Chinese. At the mansion, step into the recreated home of a wealthy Baba from bygone years, offering a glimpse into their lavish lifestyle, customs, and traditions.
