Galle Dutch Fort (Morning):

The tour typically begins in the morning with a visit to the Galle Dutch Fort, which is located in the city of Galle on the southern coast of Sri Lanka. The fort, built by the Portuguese and later expanded by the Dutch, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a well-preserved example of colonial-era architecture. Visitors can explore the fort's walls, ramparts, and narrow streets lined with Dutch colonial buildings, boutique shops, and cafes. You can also visit landmarks within the fort, such as the Galle Lighthouse, Dutch Reformed Church, and the Galle Fort Clock Tower. The historical and cultural significance of the fort makes it a fascinating place to learn about Sri Lanka's colonial history.

Bentota Beach Turtle Sanctuary (Afternoon):

After your visit to the Galle Dutch Fort, the tour will take you to Bentota Beach, which is approximately an hour's drive away from Galle. At Bentota Beach, you'll have the opportunity to visit a turtle conservation project or sanctuary. These projects are dedicated to the protection and rehabilitation of sea turtles, especially the endangered species such as the loggerhead, green, and hawksbill turtles. You'll learn about the conservation efforts and may have the chance to see rescued turtles up close. Depending on the project, you may also be able to participate in the release of baby turtles into the ocean if the timing is right.

Relaxation and Beach Time (Optional):

After your visit to the turtle sanctuary, you can enjoy some leisure time on Bentota Beach. The beach offers golden sands and clear waters, making it a pleasant spot for relaxation, swimming, or simply enjoying the coastal scenery.
