Nahargarh Fort

Soi Buakhao

The Aravalli Hills' Nahargarh Fort stands proudly on a ridge, providing an impressive northern backdrop to Jaipur. It was built in 1734 under Jai Singh's rule, and it was later extended in 1868. The mighty shield of Nahargarh, which means abode of tigers, defended Jaipur from attacking enemies.

Madhavendra Bhawan, a summer retreat for members of the royal family, is housed within the fort's walls. The palace, built by Sawai Madho Singh, has 12 matching boudoirs for the queens, with a suite for the king at the top. All of them are linked by corridors with delicate murals. The palace is also a popular picnic spot for locals. Spent your evening here watching the sunset and enjoy a dinner with a beautiful aerial view of the city.
